For standard produce and general cargo pallets, 4mm PP corrugated is the most common choice. For heavier loads above 500kg per layer, 5mm or 6mm provides better compression resistance. We can provide load-bearing data for your specific application.
Yes. We manufacture PP corrugated divider boards in any custom size. Standard sheet is 1220×2440mm but we cut to any dimension. Slotted, scored or die-cut configurations are available for self-assembly partition systems.
Yes. All virgin polypropylene divider boards comply with FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 for direct food contact. They are USDA accepted and widely used in fresh produce, meat, seafood and poultry applications.
Standard sizes start from 500 pieces. Custom cut sizes from 200 pieces. One full 40HQ container can be produced in 3 days for standard specifications.
PP corrugated divider boards — also called polypropylene layer pads, PP slip sheets, corrugated plastic separators or twin-wall divider sheets — are flat rigid sheets made from twin-wall polypropylene corrugated material. They are placed between product layers on pallets, inside corrugated boxes, or between individual items to provide separation, protection and load distribution during storage and transport.
Unlike cardboard or paper layer pads, PP corrugated divider boards are 100% waterproof, reusable for 200-500+ cycles, and maintain their structural integrity under compression even when exposed to cold storage temperatures, high humidity, or wet handling conditions. This makes them the preferred choice for fresh produce, seafood, meat, pharmaceutical and industrial applications where cardboard would become unusable after a single use.
Elipacko manufactures PP corrugated divider boards directly from our Thailand facility — Asia's largest PP corrugated manufacturing operation — and ships factory-direct to US importers with 0% anti-dumping duty on Thailand-manufactured goods.
The most common application for PP corrugated divider boards is as layer pads between product layers on wooden or plastic pallets. When stacking cases or boxes on a pallet, PP layer pads distribute the load evenly across the entire layer, preventing the bottom layers from collapsing under the weight of upper layers. Standard pallet layer pad sizes are 1200×1000mm and 1200×800mm (GMA 48×40 and Euro pallet dimensions), though custom sizes are available for any pallet configuration. Common thicknesses for pallet layer pads are 3mm-5mm.
PP corrugated sheets are precision-scored, slotted or die-cut to create self-assembly partition systems inside corrugated boxes. These partitions divide the box into individual cells that hold bottles, jars, components or fragile products individually — preventing contact damage during transit. The waterproof nature of PP makes these dividers suitable for chilled and refrigerated transport where cardboard dividers would absorb moisture and fail.
In fresh produce packaging, PP corrugated layer pads separate layers of fruit or vegetables inside produce boxes. A 4mm white PP layer pad inside a broccoli box or blueberry container provides a clean, food-safe separator that can be washed and reused alongside the reusable PP box. FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 compliant for direct food contact. Widely used for tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries, avocados, citrus and tree fruits.
PP corrugated divider boards are widely used in seafood and meat processing plants as separators between product layers in fish boxes, shrimp boxes and meat lugs. Operating at temperatures as low as -40°F, PP retains full structural integrity in frozen environments where cardboard would disintegrate. The smooth, non-porous PP surface is easy to clean and sanitize to HACCP standards.
Automotive stamping plants, electronics manufacturers and industrial parts suppliers use PP corrugated divider boards as separators between metal components, glass panels, electronic assemblies and precision parts. Anti-static PP corrugated is available for ESD-sensitive electronic and semiconductor applications. Custom die-cut shapes accommodate complex part geometries.
In pharmaceutical and medical device distribution, PP corrugated dividers provide clean, moisture-resistant separation between product units. The smooth surface does not generate paper dust or fibers that could contaminate pharmaceutical products. FDA-compliant virgin PP materials are available for direct contact applications.

Selecting the right specification for your application depends on the load, environment and intended reuse cycles. Here is a guide to the most common specifications:
Weight: 400-500g/m². Applications: Mailer inserts, document dividers, lightweight part separators. Not suitable for heavy load bearing. Good for high-volume, short-cycle reusable inserts.
Weight: 600-800g/m². Most common produce layer pad thickness. Suitable for loads up to 200kg per layer. Good balance of rigidity and cost for high-volume reusable pallet programs.
Weight: 800-1000g/m². For loads up to 400kg per layer. Standard for industrial parts, automotive, pharmaceutical. Recommended where boxes will be fully loaded and stacked 4+ pallets high.
Weight: 1000-1400g/m². For heavy industrial applications, load-bearing dividers in heavy boxes, and applications requiring extreme rigidity. Used in automotive stamping plants and heavy manufacturing.
PP corrugated sheets are the raw material — full-size flat panels (typically 1220×2440mm) that are then cut to size. PP corrugated divider boards are finished products cut to a specific size (e.g., 1200×1000mm pallet layer pad) or die-cut into partition configurations. We sell both — sheets for customers who cut their own, and finished divider boards in standard or custom dimensions.
Yes. Polypropylene maintains flexibility and structural integrity at temperatures as low as -40°F (-40°C), making PP corrugated divider boards suitable for blast freezer environments, frozen food storage and IQF (individually quick-frozen) processing applications. This is a significant advantage over cardboard which becomes brittle and cracks at low temperatures.
Under normal handling conditions, PP corrugated layer pads last 200-500+ use cycles. The actual service life depends on the load weight, handling method, cleaning frequency and storage conditions. We recommend inspecting layer pads quarterly and replacing any showing visible damage, deformation or contamination that cannot be cleaned.
Standard colors are white, black, grey, yellow, green, red and blue. Custom colors to Pantone or RAL specification are available for minimum orders. Color-coding is commonly used in food processing to implement HACCP zone separation — for example, using different colors for raw and cooked product areas.
Yes. UV printing on PP corrugated boards provides durable, wash-resistant barcodes, logos, part numbers and handling instructions. This is particularly useful in automotive and electronics supply chains where traceability is required. Print resolution is sufficient for Code 128 and QR code barcodes that can be scanned reliably after 100+ wash cycles.
Standard sizes (1200×1000mm, 1200×800mm, 1220×2440mm) are available from stock. Custom cut-to-size boards take 3-5 days. Die-cut partitions with slots and score lines take 5-10 days including tooling. One full 40HQ container can be produced in 3 days for standard specifications.
Yes — PP corrugated is 100% recyclable. At end of life, the boards can be recycled as clean PP plastic (resin code #5). Many municipalities and industrial recyclers accept PP corrugated. We manufacture using virgin PP for food-contact applications, and post-consumer recycled PP for non-food applications.
